Jeffrey Peterson has served on the Board of Directors since 1990. He strongly believes in promoting self reliance through rural economic development of our surrounding resources in a sustainable manner and in being a solid role model for youth.
After graduating from high school in Old Harbor, Jeffrey joined the United States Marine Corps with a guaranteed career as a Military Policeman. He was trained in military Police work at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas then stationed in New River Helicopter base in North Carolina where he joined and trained as a SWAT team member. Jeffrey was last stationed in Iwakuni Air Station in Japan. After completing four years in the USMC, he joined the Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO) program in Old Harbor where he served as VPSO for three years.
Jeffrey has served on the Alutiiq Tribe of Old Harbor, Old Harbor City Council, Village Corporation and commercial fished, while building his business Kodiak Combos. Jeffrey has guided anglers and hunters from all over the world mostly for fishing and duck hunting. He is also a licensed big game transporter who caters to deer, mountain goat and bear hunters.
Since his time on the OHNC Board of Directors, he has served as a director on the executive committee and also serves on a number of committees and subsidiary boards for the corporation. Jeffrey lives in Old Harbor with his family.
