Old Harbor Native Corporation provides a number of services for shareholders.  We have provided forms and instructions for you to keep your shareholder information current. There is also information available on stock wills, shareholder gifting, scholarships and life insurance.  Please use this area to download information and forms you may need from OHNC.

Tribal Administrator


POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time regular position located in Old Harbor, Alaska on Kodiak Island.  The Tribal Administrator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Tribal Administrator will report directly to the Old Harbor Tribal Council.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan, organize and direct the implementation and operations of all Tribal Programs including Aid to Tribal Government, Economic Development, Education, Environmental, Indian Child Welfare and Social Services. 
-Ensure that projects are performed according to specific standards.
-Tribal Administrator will be responsible for administrating the scholarship fund and providing one-on-one employment placement for tribal members.
-Tribal Administrator will seek funding sources for new projects and programs.
-Monitor/submit required reports related to each program including all fiscal, progress and evaluation reports, with efficiency, for OHTC approval.
-Prepare written communications as directed by the Old Harbor Tribal Council.
-Prepare and schedule annual audits as required.
-Develop and update draft Governing Documents and Policies and Procedures for approval by the Tribal Council. 
-Supervise Tribal Personnel, establish and maintain records, perform employee evaluations.
-Coordinate and schedule annual training for the Council.
-Coordinate and schedule the Annual Tribal Meeting.
-Prepare monthly financials (budget vs. actual).
-Provide Annual Budget for approval of the OHTC.
-Prepare administrative summary for quarterly Tribal Newsletter.
-Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Education in Business Management preferred, but can substitute demonstrated leadership and administrative capability.  Applicant must have at least three years of successful and direct involvement with the Native movement.  Must have working knowledge of federal register, all Federal and state social service funds, grant implementation and be familiar with administration of non-profit organizations.  Experience in economic development planning and strategic planning is preferred.  Basic knowledge of fiscal management is preferred and computer skills are required.  Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. In addition, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently are required. 


Attendance required at all Tribal Council meetings and work sessions. Must be willing to improve skills when necessary and to travel.  Must be aware of needs of the people within the Koniag Region, particularly those specific to Old Harbor and be able to address their needs in a fair and impartial manner.
